Why Custom Implants?

Here at Dr. Leslie H. Sultan’s office, we provide our patients with a variety of different facial implants to help correct a variety of jaw and structural facial issues. However, with certain problems such as a patient who has an asymmetric or uneven face, it will require the use of a custom implant.

How Are Custom Implants Created?

To ensure that we create a custom implant that will fit your facial structure and needs, we will start out by taking a CT scan which will then be sent to our medical modeling facility. The CT scan will be converted into usable, three-dimensional images that are analyzed to create implants that contain the proper symmetry, contour, and dimensions. Once, the medical modeling facility has some molds set up they will conduct a virtual meeting with Dr. Sultan, you (the patient), and a virtual modeling engineer will design the ideal implant shape for you. After about two weeks, your custom implant will be ready to be implanted.

If you need custom implants to help correct a structural facial issue, Dr. Leslie H. Sultan and his staff of professionals will ensure that we get it right the first time around.
