Services We Provide At The State-of-the-art Sultan Center For Oral Facial Surgery:

Comprehensive Full Scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral and maxillofacial surgery is a specialty of dentistry involving the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and defects of the mouth, jaw, and face. These are some oral and maxillofacial procedures we provide:

Dental Implants and Zygomatic Cheek Implants

Dental implants are the superior option for replacing a missing tooth or two. For complete tooth loss on an arch, or both arches, Dr. Sultan specializes in the All-on-4 procedure, using four implants to anchors dentures on a complete arch. The All-on-4 method can usually be performed in a single day, thanks to Dr. Sultan’s use of computer-guided implant placement.

For patients who have lost too much bone mass in the upper jaw, Dr. Sultan places Zygomatic Cheek Implants. These implants enable Dr. Sultan to avoid the need for extensive bone grafting to enable the placement of either traditional implants or the All-on-4 method of implant-supported dentures. TMJ Surgery and Replacement

Temporomandibular joint disorder is an often-misdiagnosed condition that causes a wide range of pain throughout the face and entire head. The pain can even radiate out into the shoulders and neck. Dr. Sultan provides both non-surgical solutions, such as the creation of custom mouth guards to help reposition the jaw, and surgical solutions if needed. Surgery usually involves the disc that cushions the TMJ. Read More About TMJ Surgery and Replacement »

Snoring and Sleep Apnea

People who suffer from sleep apnea actually stop breathing dozens of times every night while sleeping, causing the brain to force them awake briefly to gain necessary oxygen. This happens when their upper airway becomes blocked, usually by sagging soft tissue. This continual sleep interruption is a serious health concern, as it contributes to high blood pressure, stroke, cardiovascular deaths, and problems with sleep deprivation, such as car accidents.

Dr. Sultan provides both non-surgical and surgical solutions for sleep apnea. Non-surgical options involve custom-fit oral appliances that bring the lower jaw forward to open the airway, or a system call continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), which creates a pressure difference as the patient wears a mask attached to a pressurizing machine during sleep. Surgical solutions involve various options for opening the airway, usually through the removal of soft tissue or hard tissue. Read More About Snoring and Sleep Apnea »

Custom Facial Implants

For patients who require cosmetic enhancement to balance their face, Dr. Sultan surgically places facial implants. These can be used to build up the chin, cheekbones, and the lower jaw. The need could be purely aesthetic, or could arise from previous jaw surgery or a previous traumatic injury. Read More About Custom Facial Implants »

Computer-Guided Surgery

For all of his surgeries, everything from implant placement to jaw reconstruction to TMJ disc repositioning, Dr. Sultan employs state-of-the-art computed tomography (CT) scans . For oral and maxillofacial reconstructive surgery, he creates what are known as stereo lithographic anatomic models of the jaws and facial bones for analysis of the deficiencies and for planning reconstruction. Read More About Computer-Guided Surgery »
