Who Is a Good Candidate?
Just like with any surgery, you need to be deemed a good candidate before you get facial implants of any kind. Patients who undergo facial implants typically have some of the following characteristics:
- Have cosmetic/esthetic concerns only
- Have a good bite relationship
- Have a good jaw relationship
- Have had previous jaw correction (orthognathic) surgery
- Have facial deficits from previous traumatic injuries
However, that doesn’t mean that if you don’t fit into one of those categories that you won’t be a good candidate. The best way to tell? Schedule a consultation with Dr. Leslie H. Sultan’s office.
What Does Surgery Entail?
Dr. Leslie H. Sultan has years of experience regarding facial implant surgery and likes to use implants manufactured from porous plastic material, or a combination of silicone coated with plastic. During the surgical procedure, you will be under anesthesia, so you won’t feel a thing. By making small implants either in your mouth or in another inconspicuous area of your face, Dr. Leslie H. Sultan will then surgically place your implants in the correct position in order to give you the more enhanced appearance you have always wanted.
Following your surgery, you will be sent into recovery where you will be monitored for a few hours in order to ensure that you are healthy enough to be sent home. Once you are released and sent home, you can expect to recover in bed for a few days following surgery. Upon your release, however, Dr. Leslie H. Sultan will give you a detailed pamphlet regarding the recovery process.
If you lack certain facial contours and would like to enhance your natural beauty, you may want to consider chin, cheek, or facial implants. To learn more or to schedule a consultation, contact Dr. Leslie H. Sultan’s office today!
